I try not to be a pest about this issue, but over and over the topic of health and beauty products is mentioned on the message board that I frequent most often.
Rather than repeat exactly what someone more eloquent than me has just posted about today, please take a few minutes and read this. I wish all Moms knew how important it was to use safe and gentle products on the little ones we love. We have used the Aubrey line for 4 years now, and it’s affordable and easy to find.
When I was pregnant with Maren I started to research phthalates. I learned that they were regulated in Europe but not the US. So I took out every beauty product I used over the course of a day. Did you know the average woman uses 12? I called the 1-800 number on every product to find out what the manufacturers could tell me about the levels of phthalates in their products. Every one I talked to said something along the lines of “Studies do not indicate that phthalates are harmful to your health.” Yeah, right. Thanks.
Check out Skin Deep and look into the products you use. I don’t find it’s necessary to use products that are all 0 or 1 on the safe scale. But we do use many products that are rated that way, and so when I use wipes that are a 3, I don’t lose too much sleep at night. Everyone has a different comfort level.
If you are local to Racine, you can find Aubrey products at this great store.

Thanks for the site…it’s all hard for me to sort through. What are your favs for things…sunscreen, wipes etc? I hate to not do my own research but I feel lost. I should go to the next “Simple” meeting I guess…I suppose this is what’s discussed? Thanks again!
