What a weekend. Weather was perfect and we packed in as much as we could. It’s the Wisconsin Winter Syndrome thing. Must cram as many summer activities in as humanly possible before it all goes downhill.
Our weekend included–
2 trips to 2 zoos
Taste of Racine
2 bike rides
3 trips to 3 different hardware stores
1 prospective new babysitter
2 pitchers of Beergaritias and one Daddy Hangover
1 movie night
5 episodes of Jon and Kate Plus 8 *Maren’s new favorite*
0 days of sleeping in
1 trip to the beach and 1 Faerie House
Really good corn on the cob
20 minutes of tennis before Violet protested her seat in the stroller
4 wainscotting panels painted
1 backyard campfire and more s’mores than I should have consumed
Plus lots of swimming in the backyard baby pool, 2 unassisted walking steps from Violet, a few new words (Jim thinks she can say “Cubs” and Maren said she can say “agua” but I’m not buying it.) We also rode the train while at the zoo and I had to hold Violet with a death grip to keep her from jumping out.
This kid is all about the ride. The weekend could have been perfect, but we missed my Dad’s surprise Birthday party. Happy Birthday Papa.
Back to reality tomorrow.

Sounds like a great weekend! Old man Johnny didn’t want to do a damn thing! He is SOOOO much fun! Vi and Mar are so cute! Miss them and miss you!
